Handmade Black Japanese Samurai Sword

The katana boasts an impressive set of specifications. Weighing in at 1.4kg, the overall length measures 41.3"/105cm, with a blade length (nagasa) of 28.0"/71cm. The blade width near the habaki is 1.26"/3.2cm, tapering to 0.91"/2.3cm near the kissaki. Crafted from 9260 spring steel, the blade features a shinogi-zukuri shape and a sharp cutting edge.

The tsuka (handle) measures 10.6"/27cm and is made of imitation ray skin wrapped in hard wood and brown leather rope. Two bamboo nails secure the handle in place. The tsuba (guard) is constructed from high-quality copper, while the saya (scabbard) is crafted from lacquered hardwood.

Regarding the craftsmanship, this katana is the product of meticulous hand-forging and sharpening processes. The blade was carefully selected, forged, quenched, polished, and ground, all done manually. The hardness has reached an impressive 60 HRC.

This blade's performance is further enhanced by its full-length tang, which greatly strengthens the sword. The smooth, bright, and razor-sharp edge is capable of cleanly slicing through thick bamboo, as well as more delicate targets like fruit and water bottles.

The materials used in this katana are of the highest quality. The blade is made from 9260 spring steel, featuring an excellent kissaki (sword tip). The saya is crafted from real hardwood with a lacquer finish, while the tsuka is made of imitation ray skin (samegawa) and wrapped in brown leather rope. The habaki, kashira, fuchi, and seppa components are all made of high-quality brass.
