High-Quality Handmade Folded Steel Hon-Sanmai Katana Sword

All components of this sword can be disassembled and reassembled like a genuine katana, making it a perfect choice for expert and discerning practitioners.

The Hon-Sanmai structure is a composite forging of three distinct steel types. Harder steel is used on the blade's edge, employing high-hardness steel to make the blade more durable and longer-lasting in sharpness. The back of the blade utilizes steel with better ductility to prevent breakage during combat. The blade surface features folded steel to further enhance stability, also adding aesthetic appeal through its exquisite texture.

The blade undergoes a fully handmade Hadori-Polish process, resulting in a beautiful finish with high artistic value. Simultaneously, it remains exceptionally sharp, enabling seamless cutting practice.

The sword's fittings are of the highest quality. The tsuba (hand-guard) set is made of gilded brass and silver, beautifully crafted and durable. The habaki (blade collar) is brass, engraved with a leopard pattern to connect the blade and scabbard.

The full-tang tsuka (handle) is engraved with the maker's name and year of completion. Two mekugi (pegs) secure the tang, allowing the sword to be disassembled. The tsuka is crafted from hardwood, covered in genuine ray skin and high-quality ito (cord wrapping), tightly bound to prevent movement during use.

The hardwood saya (scabbard) is handcrafted to the blade's precise dimensions, ensuring a secure and rattle-free fit to protect the blade. Hand-wound natural rattan enhances grip and feel, while a high-quality sageo (sword cord) is tied around the kurikata (knob). The koiguchi (scabbard mouth) is reinforced with ox horn to prevent cracking.

Each sword is packaged with a silk sword bag, but the wooden stand shown in the images is not included. Proper maintenance, such as keeping the blade clean and applying a protective coat of engine oil when not in use, is recommended to prevent oxidation.
